Warning: This is a long post that could change your life:
This morning I was reflecting on the words of this hymn. You can listen to a modern version of it on YouTube if you want to:
- I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
- Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.
- Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!
- There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
Frances J. Crosby wrote this hymn. She was blind by the time she was six weeks old. She wrote over 8,500 songs. This song was accompanied by the text from Hebrews 10:22: “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water” (KJV).
We have all sinned. Christians or believers in Christ recognize their sin and repent, asking God to forgive them.
Heaven is real. Hell is real. Angels are real. Demons are real. God is real. Satan is real.
Whether you are consciously aware of it or not, both God and Satan are constantly working to draw you to their side. It is completely and totally your choice who you choose.
Yes, on the day of your death, you can turn to God and seek forgiveness and he will freely give it to you, 100%; however, do we always know the day or minute we will die?
If you believe there is a God who sent his very Son to pay the price on the cross for all of the evil you have done, why wouldn’t you have faith and accept him into your life now and begin the process of finding true joy and peace while you still have days left on earth to help other people?
This life is a walk of faith. Faith is unseen, meaning, it wouldn’t be faith if you could see it. But you sense it. You see a rainbow in the sky. A baby’s sweet cheeks. You’ve sensed supernatural help when you really needed it, things that have happened that can’t be explained in a logical way. These are some of God’s ways of reaching out to meet you and be with you. Above all he wants to be in a true friendship with you and show you his love for you. He wants you to be set free to be who he made you to be.
As we are human, we cannot understand this kind of love unless God allows us to. He loves me. He LOVES you. We want to earn his love and be worthy of it, but we aren’t. Yet, his love is real.
Did you know you can go to Israel right now and see where Jesus lived and walked on the earth? Or Google it and look at the pictures. It is real people. Jesus is real.
The enemy of our souls, Satan or Lucifer, was one of the original three angels created by God, along with Michael the warrior angel and Gabriel the messenger angel.
Lucifer had instruments within his very body to play beautiful music for God. He was the original, or one of the original worship leaders. He became filled with pride. God hates pride. God had to send him to the earth with the angels who were following him in his prideful ways (demons). Now his goal is to take as many people to hell with him as he can. His fate is sealed. He will be in hell forever and ever, but that doesn’t have to be you. You are still breathing and walking on the earth. You have the opportunity still to see the truth and have the veil lifted from your spiritual eyes so you can turn to God and seek forgiveness and relationship with him. Satan puts a thick spiritual veil over our eyes and ears to attempt to prevent us from seeing and hearing truth. Is it working on you?
If you decide what I am saying is the truth, you can turn your heart to God and confess to him that you believe what I’m saying is true. You can decide right now to ask forgiveness from God for your sins and ask to have the very blood of Christ, still active in the spiritual realm from over 2,000 years ago when Christ died on the cross, cover your sins so you can be in a relationship with God and begin a new life.
Jesus never sinned, not once. Read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These books in the Bible tell us about the life Jesus lived. Did you know Jesus drank wine and also loved on prostitutes and evil people? Did you know he got angry and violently flipped over tables in the temple when people were making money in an evil way in his Father’s house? Jesus hates religion, too. He called the religious people of his day vipers and evil people.
Jesus was real. The idea you have of who Jesus was might not be correct. This might be an important enough issue to do a little research for yourself before you make your decision. Just because some of the people who follow Jesus are fake or offensive to you, that doesn’t mean Jesus himself isn’t real and wanting to have a relationship with you.
Jesus knew God looks at THE HEART, our MOTIVATIONS, as well as our actions. Jesus had the power from God on high to heal people. He had compassion on people in Bible times and he has compassion on you for the pain you are in, whether it is physical, emotional, or mental.
Did you know he was so full of power that once a woman who had been having problems with her reproductive system and had been bleeding for 12 years just touched the very edge of the robe Jesus was wearing as he walked down the street and she was healed. I don’t know about you, but I would have been so full of thankfulness and joy if I had been her!
Jesus also has power over the devil. He set people free from demon possession (look up Luke 8:26-38). He loved people and brought good news to people!
Like I said before, he never sinned, not once. This is why he’s sometimes called the pure Lamb of God. In the days of the Old Testament, the righteous people had to sacrifice the blood of animals for their sins, over and over, sacrificing a lamb, bull, or a goat or birds. God hates sin. He is so holy he cannot be around it, so the blood would cover the sins as the people repented. Certain priests could be in God’s presence in the Old Testament after offering these animal sacrifices.
When Jesus came, he took the place of all of these animals once and for all to cover our sins, if we will receive it by faith. This is something that happens in our hearts and minds and in our spirits. We believe and confess and are saved.
You have a spirit inside of you that will live forever. Your physical body will be buried when you die, here on the earth, but the REAL YOU, your inner man or woman is a spirit. This spirit will go to heaven or hell for all eternity, forever and forever, when you die.
Jesus died on the cross, took all of our sin upon him, and then he rose from the dead through supernatural power. This is where Jesus differs from any of the other gods. He has true power to be resurrected and then to see us resurrected, too. This is what we celebrate at Easter. Jesus has the power to save us!
On the day Christ died, it rocked the spiritual realm. Go read about it (Matthew 27: 50-54). There was an earthquake and the literal veil or curtain in the temple was torn into two pieces representing that we do not need a high priest to intercede for us anymore, we can go directly to our new High Priest, Christ Jesus, face-to-face now, and all you have to do is have the faith that Jesus is real and ask him to forgive you.
Have the faith that even though you can’t see him, he loves you and wants to help you here on the earth. If you tell him you are genuinely sorry for the things you have done that are evil, and we’ve all done evil things, then ask for forgiveness and to have some of the pure blood of Jesus cover you now in the spiritual realm, and it will be done.
These are supernatural issues. You can’t see them, but you will feel the lasting effects of being cleansed and set free in your mind and heart and spirit.
If you seek God the tiniest bit every day and draw close to him, there is a promise in the Bible that he will see you doing this and he will draw close to you, too. He sees and knows everything. All of your thoughts and actions. He will draw near to you if you seek him.
You must have faith. You must walk on this earth believing truth, even when you can’t see it. God IS REAL. Jesus LOVES YOU. He is interceding for you even now. The third part of God is the Holy Spirit who is the one helping us here on earth and comforting us in times of pain and trial. The Holy Spirit also intercedes for us, prays for us to God. Do you see all the help you have? Even angels are real and the Holy Spirit has probably already even sent angels to help you, even if you didn’t know it.
This post might be an opportunity for you to have a new life, not just here on earth, but a life that will last forever in heaven with God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, angels, your other family members who were believers, and all of the amazing people from the Bible who also had to be tested on the earth and have faith to believe that GOD IS REAL.
You can contempt this. You can say, this is cheesy or poorly written. Yet, the Truth is the Truth.
Do the research for yourself. Don’t just believe what I’m saying, start asking God to show you what is true. Google scripture and read it every day, asking God to remove the spiritual veil from your eyes and ears.
If you’re not sure, that’s okay. God will never, ever stop pursuing you. He loves you that much to face all of that rejection from you, over and over. He will continue to seek after you to turn your heart towards him until the day you die.
If you know this word has touched a part of your spirit as truth, but you’re not ready to take the step to have faith in Jesus yet, start reading a Bible. Go online and read about some of the amazing things Jesus did in the book of John. Read some of the stories in Genesis. These men were real men with a real faith in God: Abraham, Noah, Jacob, Joseph.
Start a conversation with God and ask him to show you he is real. Be ready. He will do it.
Find some people to live life with who have faith in God. Seek him and ask him if he’s real. What harm is there in doing this? Unless you’re afraid I’m right?
Wherever you are at in your walk with God, know that you are LOVED, LOVED, LOVED today!
You can draw nearer to God and start a new life being close to the God who created the universe and created YOU! <3
